It's hard to believe that in some other timeline where i didn't hesitate, i've been away overseas at this moment and am just making my way back. Don't know why, but it feels like going overseas for a relaxation seems to be so rooted in me now that missing the flights just runs my mind so badly and i just kept checking flights so that i can just drop everything and go. Well, today is the last day of the year. No more such thinking anymore. The next chance will be in April...and looking at it now, it's not really that far off. Today also marks the last day i will be working in my current department. Friday i will be collecting my new laptop. Still unsure of the scope of my work but i wholeheartedly look towards the challenges it will bring. Onward. Forward.
...if you can believe, the planned trip in December is cancelled too. Would've been in Japan now if not for the cancellation. It's just absolute dog luck that i fell ill a week before the flight. ...even asked the doctor for their strongest medicine. Paid a premium too. Unfortunately i didn't recover enough that i am confident to travel. Especially since Japan is having their cold season too. Damn, what a waste.
Almost a month since the last post. Wow. The most significant update i can give is that at the end, about 2 days before departure to Japan, i cancelled my trip. You know that feeling when your tummy aches after you exercise immediately after a meal? A stitch? I had that for over the weekend and it persisted for quite some time. Last thing i wanted to experience is sickness and stuck in hotel in the end. So i made the decision to refund my ticket. Unfortunately there was a considerable amount of hotel fees that i couldn't get a refund for. I continued with my leave and boy it sucked so much. I was bored out of my mind last week, i kept looking for getaways and trips to go overseas. It kinda broke me away from my insistence at a Business class ticket only at Singapore Airlines. I started to read on economy and the rest, which should be the default for most people. That made me plan for another getaway in December, since i have enough leave days left.
This past week at work i saw her. I think i saw her. Over the bridge linking the hotel to the...other hotel. Heh. She's wearing sunglasses. Couldn't tell if she even looked at me. If she did, guess she already had forgotten who i am. I replayed that walking pass a few times. Sometimes, i thought i would reach out. Be suave. Ask whether she recalls who i am and use that chance. But i wonder. Some times it is best to leave as it be. Doesn't help that she appeared in an online video i saw recently. Dang it. In the end i didn't let go at all, did i...
Holy RA it's already near the end of April of 2025. Since the last post i've made a second booking to Japan, been there and returned. The visit this time was less of a rush but at the same time, i spent more time relaxing (idling) in the hotel. Originally i've planned annual visits in October of each year but i kind of felt like going again. So i made a booking towards the end of January. Unfortunately, the timing is not really good this time as the weather was pretty dark and gloomy throughout the trip. The Sun only showed up at the last 2 days of the trip. --- This time, i've visited Shizuoka again for its sushi. Same store. Same taste. I've also went to Enoshima and had "Enoshima Don", a seafood egg rice. I've mistaken "Yurantei" for the "Uomitei" that i wanted to visit. Nonetheless, the food is good. I'll visit someday again. Also, fulfilled my dream of taking the Sunrise Express, visiting Izumo and the famed Izumo Taisha (...
