April Fool's day so take what i am going to say with a pinch of salt.
Or not. Nah. No point in writing anything jokingly.

Cohorting, or the split-team arrangement as some would call, has began 3 weeks ago. The idea is the isolation and preservation of a team's medical status by placing an air-gap between the two teams. In no scenario should any one from either team meet members of the opposite. This will ensure that in case someone from a team is down and needed to be isolated, contact tracing can be performed easier and that backup can be done while the other team is isolated.
The difference in the teams' behaviour varies from ability to meet external vendors, meal times and locations as well as work location. All to ensure that no one will violate the split-team arrangement.
The past fortnight was a trial that presents week-long settings for the teams. One team would work at home for a week while the other will go to either an alternate office or simply stay at home and work remotely. After a week, the teams swap their settings. As of this week, this initiative has been enforced and it became alternate days instead of weeks, with the presumption to only report to office if absolutely needed for work.
As such, i have been staying at home more often these days. It's the kind of break i am looking for but it's probably inappropriately to be saying it in this situation. Away from my systems, i can't really do much so, i'm pretty much on break until the next major deadline to hit.
---
Most of what i have been doing at home are not work-related. Rather, if i need to get work done, there's no choice but to go to office or the remote work location.
...so the past 3 weeks i've been watching anime.
Non-stop watching them.
Like, i don't usually watch animes because of the time required and during normal working conditions by the time i reach home, i'd just wanted to play video games but now that i have a lot of time on hand, i find myself watching series after series.
The fascinating thing to me is when these anime were released. I often thought about what i was doing then when they were just broadcast. If i were a normal anime fan, i am pretty sure i would have watched them as they released.
...and then i realised that this recently acquired habit is the only time i smile or laugh now.
The existential crisis i felt was never this real and close before.
