...all we've been doing for the past few weeks are probably for today. The Army Half Marathon. Unfortunately, OR fortunately, i'm the water point party member, hence i don't have to do any walks or runs. The thing that's disgusting is that i had to book in earlier yesterday night to help load the stores and set up the tables.
---
Went back to camp last night at about 2230hrs. Changed and had a really short nap of 10 minutes before we fall in at the Parade Square at 2330hrs. We helped load up the stores onto the truck and we board the bus headed to Fullerton Bay hotel at about 0045hrs. It was a nice 1 hour of napping time.
Reached the place at about 0145hrs. We started to unload all the stores we have and set up the tables at our designated point. I was in team 1, hence our team was set to be at the front of the running direction such that runners will reach us the fastest. We move the water and the necessary items to our point as quickly as we can. Isaiah was surprisingly proactive in helping out.
Started to fill up the cups with water at 0400hrs (Yes, we did not sleep the night). It's a little slow at the start as we're filling from a Cambro canister, hence we just laid the cups and pour from the bottle itself.
Rested for about 15 minutes before the run started at 0515hrs, half an hour earlier than the designated time. As the horn blasted off, we see a near-endless crawl of human wave across the road.
About 6 minutes into the run, we had our first customer...and hell started to break loose.
The rush of runners wanting water got us surprised. There we were, thinking that no one would need water at a 2.5km mark, just frantically started to lay out cups and pouring on them. Since our team was at the frontline, we pretty much took the brunt of the force and the rest of the teams are much easier off. No complains about that, since all's fair is fair. Someone just had to do it.
After the first wave ended, we took a half hour nap and rest before we got up again for the second wave of runners. The same kind of hell and chaos follow. We just poured and poured.
It's really hard to maintain and control your temper. Especially when some others are not really efficient and do things slowly, but i managed not to flare up. I guess everyone just wants to sleep and rest, not just me, so i just pressed on, occasionally making a few jokes to keep our morale high.
On the better side, i saw quite a few of my friends and commanders. Refreshing to see them run.
At 1100hrs, the main party fall out while some of us went back to camp to help unload the stores. Got a ride from my father and went home. After a bath and half an hour of online time, i just slept like a log and woke up 6 hours later at 2030hrs.

Oh well, that's about all for this seemingly long and hectic day. Frustrating as hell, but i made it with the rest.
