Well, i wanted to do this before the day ends, so here i am.
Hello everyone. I'm back from the last book-out of my BMT.
I think i should take this slowly...day to day.
---
Day 1; 24th May, Monday
Well, the worst thing of the day really, is the fact that Jia Wei is the Platoon I/C for breakfast.
Now, in case i haven't said anything about him (Which i think i did not), he is...abnormal. A person with who closed himself from others, he tries to shift responsibilities away from him. He's famous in the company for his ability to talk to insects (Which is a little dubious) and cosplaying.
You did not read wrong.
Anyway, proceeding with his mistakes, he can't remember how to shout commands or to shout them loud enough for the platoon to hear. In the end everyone was punished in one way or the other. Marching on the spot, a drill that easily tires you.
Went ahead and did de-kitting as our first period. Spray paint the tent pegs and shovel blades and left them out to dry for a really long time.
I hate it when some people just laze off even when they see others working so hard.
Went to section 4's bunk to discuss our performance during OC Evening (Which for some reason it's held in the afternoon). I was in charge of bringing everyone into the bunk within the time given, hence i didn't think that i need to perform. As i sat down and watch them rehearse, i kept having flashbacks or how we got together and fought till today.
Went for lunch and came back for the big event - the OC' Evening. Well, in general, each platoon is supposed to come out with one performance. We did impersonation with a dance item. Steven was imitating a CERTAIN sergeant and did his trademark movement of grabbing his crotch every now and then. The whole company roared out in laughter when they saw it. The commanders obviously knew in an instant who the sergeant was. The CERTAIN sergeant gave a quick middle finger.
Other performances included a dance item as well as songs. A particularly interesting performance was a Yo-yo skills exhibit. I thought that it was really nice, but i feel that i am unable to put down into words.
After that, we had an admin and food break. Our commanders themselves personally handed us some food and beverages. Platoon 1 just sat in the training shack and enjoy our food and some conversations.
The day ended with dinner. Nothing much happens after that.

Day 2; 25th May, Tuesday
It's recruits' evening, and a rather blank morning for a start. Did a lot of area cleaning BY MYSELF and had a lot of inspections. We kept missing some points here and there and are required to touch up.
I REALLY hate it when people just skive.
...but what the hell, by the time we realised it's already time for the event. Went to the Main Auditorium and enjoyed the performance. We had 'BMTC got talent' performance, in which Mathan performed a dance item. I thought it was exceptional (In terms of guts).
Had dinner shortly. Unfortunately i was too slow and couldn't grabbed much food.
The Music and Drama Company came and put up a performance. It was nice and refreshing, considering that we didn't really see anything like that since the start of our BMT.
After the event ended, everyone else went to the canteen to get some food and drinks. A group of people, which i volunteered, were tasked to return the dinner utensils to the cookhouse. In the end, we didn't manage to buy anything from the canteen.

Day 3; May 26th, Wednesday
The day's events started with NE Presentation (Yes, they still cared even in BMTC). I personally felt that each project is well-done, save a little miscommunication and disorganization. They are each unique in their parts and put in a lot of effort.
...but whatever, the cheese of the day is the 10km route march.
...which i failed to complete.
I have to say, i have no idea why but after only completing 2km, i started to breathe heavily and had blurred and double vision. At our first rest point, a lot of my platoon mates said that my face turned completely pale. I opt to fall out in order not to risk any blacking out.
To platoon 1: I'm really sorry for not being able to complete the march with you all.
When back to company line for a really long night. Did lots of survey and learnt the BMTC roar. Went back to bunk at 11.30pm to pack our stuff.
I have a lot of difficulty trying to squeeze stuff into my field pack. In the end, i had no choice but to dump my shoes and sandals.
Slept at 12am...

Last Day; 27th May, Thursday
Woke up and brush up. All the usual stuff. Had some short inspections and brought our stuff downstairs to the basketball court. Had breakfast and went back, grabbed our stuff and went to the main auditorium. Went in and see the prize presentation.
Congrats to Ow Shiyuan from Platoon 1 as company best recruit (OW!), and Wei Lun as Platoon 1 best recruit, not forgetting Zach from Platoon 1 as company best shot.
Had our last phototaking session. I'm quite sad that Sir Benny and Sergeant Fadhli are not there with us in the photo, but good thing Sergeant YY is there to join us in the picture too.
As we sat in the auditorium, waiting for our turn to set off, i sat alone and had deep thoughts, thinking back of the 7 weeks with Platoon 1. I have unsaid words to them, that when i was scared and discouraged, it's the people in the platoon that gave me the courage and strength to stand up and fight once more. Even though i am unable to finish the route march with you people, we have a lot of memories from field camp, hand grenade throwing and our live range. We smiled and shouted together, we suffered and grieved together. It really is the fusion of the heart and soul of every single individual in the platoon. I'm proud of every single one of you in Platoon 1, thank you all very much.
We had our final marching as a platoon, took the ferry and then the bus, and that's where we bid each other farewell.

As a conclusion, i dedicate this post to the following people with my greatest respect:
