Alright, this is another new series of entry.
Game Review #1: Shin Megami Tensei Persona (PSP version)
I have just finished the game today in the afternoon, so let's give it a rating.
Story: 9/10
Persona starts off students playing a spiritual game called "Persona", and after that they fainted and awoke to a new nightmare: Demons are loose on their town, Mikage-Cho. They then worked their way through returning the town to its normal state. The story plat is thick with a satisfying number of plot twists. The ending is quite epic, although the fact remains that i only went through the easier ending of the 2, because the second was simply too time-consuming. The only bad thing, at least to me, is that it is impossible to see 100% in a single playthrough. To get it, you must at least play through it 4 times. Maybe it's their way of sustaining replayability, but makes it way too time-consuming in it.
Gameplay: 9/10
How the game works, is actually a turn-by-turn strategical role-playing game. You control a maximum of 5 characters in party and you fight using weapons, guns and demon magic. The changing factor here is that you can make contact with demons to get their spell cards. Spell cards are then use to fuse demons for the party to use. You can also choose to mix in an item to enhance the stats of a demon. That is the only way of getting stronger demons in a fast way. Innovative use of mixing cards and items to get a demon. That way, it leaves player a lot of options to customise the demons in whatever way they want.
Music: 8/10
The game's BGM, background music that is, mostly uses vocal songs by Shoji Meguro, the same person who made Persona 3 and 4 music. So what does that mean? If you have heard some of the songs from there, you'll know what i mean by "Good and enticing". The remade PSP version was given a new opening theme as well as remade battle themes. Though, BGMs in dungeons maybe repetitive sometimes, overall music is still one of the selling points of the game.
Overall: 9/10 (Not an average)
That's it for my first game review. I don't intend to write anything now, so till next time.
